Hi friends! I get questions almost daily about my eyelash extensions, so I thought it was time to do a blog post about them and answer some questions. I get them done by Thahn here in Lubbock at Lash’D Avenue. She has always done such an amazing job customizing my lashes! You can call (806) 224-8671 to book an appointment with her or any of the other awesome girls who work there.
A couple of weeks ago, I put up a question box on my Instagram stories for my eyelashes. I looked over all of those and compiled the most asked questions!
Do they ruin your natural lashes?
I think this depends a lot on how well you take care of them and who you go to. When everything was shut down last year, I had my lashes off for a while. My lashes were all still there, just shorter. If you use a serum when they are all off, they should grow fuller and longer.
How often do you get them filled?
I go every 10-14 days.
How do you take care of them and wash your face?
I try my hardest to never touch them and rarely get them wet. If I wear eyeshadow, l use a gentle cleanser and put it on a makeup remover cloth and wipe them carefully. If I do have to touch them, it’s with a spooly to comb and separate them out.
What products do you use on them?
I use THIS makeup remover cloth or THESE. You cannot go wrong with a Tarte mascara for your lower lashes. I also linked two others below..
Are they hard to maintain?
I don’t think so, but it’s important you stay on top of your fills. If you do not do those every two weeks or so, it will be. You’ll want to schedule out an hour to an hour and a half for your fills.
How do you keep them from shedding so much?
Shedding is seasonal and it will happen no matter what. Mine do not shed a lot, I can tell when they are though. I try not to get them wet, and I do not touch them. A big part is leaving them alone. Plus I make sure to sleep on my side to help also. Though, the side I do sleep on tends to have more lashes gone. I do not use mascara on them either.
What kind/style do you get?
I get between mega volume and volume, and she puts the spikes throughout to help make my eyes pop. The best thing about where I go is that they can customize to your eye shape and to the look you are trying to achieve.
Do you wear mascara?
You shouldn’t wear mascara on your extensions, but I do on my lower lashes. I rotate between several different kinds. HERE is one I use, or THIS one as well.
Do you have any reaction to them or suggestions for those who do?
I didn’t, but I know some people do. I would recommend asking about the glue test. The stylist can put in on your hand first to test for a possible reaction.
Are they worth the money?
I definitely think it is. It keeps things so much more simple when getting ready daily. I just throw on some foundation on most days, and I’m ready to go. If I had to choose between nails or eyelash extensions, it would definitely be the eyelash extensions.
