Vacation is still on my mind! I wanted to share all about our trip to Florida. Our family traveled to the Miramar Beach, Florida area for spring break, and we had the BEST time with the best people. It was our kids’ first time to see the ocean, which made it extra special. Our sweet friends, Ashlee and Brett, along with their little ones (7 kids between us), made the trip with us as well. This made it all the more fun!
It took some work, but we loaded down our car and drove to Dallas on Sunday. We flew out from Dallas to Fort Walton Beach/Destin airport, and we rented a car from there. Having our own vehicle made it much more convenient because we had to drive almost everywhere. We got an Airbnb near the beach large enough for all of us to stay in. If you travel to this area, you’ll want to search around for the best deal!
We spent Monday and Tuesday at the beach! I got a lot more sun than I expected, I definitely underestimated the cloudy sky. It was so windy and a bit cold, the weather did not quite cooperate while we were there. We rented a golf cart to get around and go back and forth to the beach, I highly recommend it. Wednesday, we went to Watercolor and had brunch.
We tried Seaside, but it was a bit of a bust for us, very crowded and extremely long lines everywhere. We did not stay long there. After, we headed to Alys Beach which was our favorite spot during the trip. We met Jess and the kids over there and had such a fun time! Thursday was cold and windy, so we did not get to do much of a beach day. The kids had fun swimming in the pool for a bit back at the house. Friday, we headed back home, but our flight was later in the day. Since it was rainy, we all headed to the arcade and to play laser tag. The kids had a blast! We got home pretty late that evening and took Saturday to rest up and get unpacked. Thankful for all the memories made!
