In honor of my 33rd Birthday I wanted to share 33 THINGS you may or may not know about me:
- I wanted to be the next big female rapper growing up. Missy Elliot was #goals
- I changed the spelling of my name when I was in elementary. It was “MAEGEN” that extra “E” threw me off, so I dropped it.
- My first car was a Geo Tracker with a license plate “F37STD”… Thanks Mom & Dad… as if being a teenager wasn’t hard enough.
- I went to the same school my whole life and then during my Senior year decided I was just done with school. After Christmas break I finished my last semester on a computer in just a few short weeks and graduated early.
- I am obsessed with studying the Holocaust. My dream is to get to go visit any and every museum and all of the concentration camps. Any movie or book about that era, I watch and read!
- I wanted to get married at Seaworld. I was going to ride Shamu in with a white wet suit on and all my bridesmaids on dolphins with pink wet suits. A girl can dream right?
- I pointed Ricky out in a bar before I ever even knew his name and said “That’s the guy I am going to marry” I didn’t even speak to him that night. Saw him a few nights later at the bar and the rest is history.
- I use sarcasm/humor to hide behind my real emotions.
- Words are my love language. They carry HUGE weight with me, so I am learning I have to filter what I hear, read and receive.
- I’ve always been the girl that was just “one of the guys”
- I can turn down sweets in a second. Chips and Salsa is a whole other story.
- I will write a book one day. I also want to start a podcast.
- I can read a good book in a day.
- I played beer pong with Corey from Boy Meets World when I was 19.
- I will go to my grave with hair extensions. Ricky knows this, so does my hair girl Lauren.
- I never thought I would have kids. God has a sense of humor.
- I won a local wedding contest. Pretty much the only reason we had a wedding.
- Jan 2020 will be our 10yr and I plan on having a vow renewal
- Growing up I always knew I wanted to own my own business. I had a entrepreneur mindset in the womb.
- I went to college for a semester or two… just to get the school id… to get in the bars and get the specials on college night.
- I started drinking when I was 14, began to use drugs and alcohol to cope with all my problems, didn’t completely quit this vicious cycle until I was 27 years old.
- My first concert was SNOOP D-O-G-G… my mom dropped me off. Pretty sure she had no idea what I was walking into
- I want to adopt a baby.
- Shoes are my favorite accessory. And a good designer bag.
- I started working when I was 14yrs old. Got my first job from stealing. Whole other story for a whole other day.
- I love public speaking.
- I was a cheerleader… that could barely do a cartwheel. Pretty sure I got the sympathy vote.
- My parents got divorced when I was 18.
- I had two miscarriages after having our first three children
- I still live in my hometown. Born and raised LBK.
- I have two tattoos. Regret both, thankfully one is white and pretty much invisible.
- I started really pursuing my relationship with Christ in 2012.
- I was 31 the first time I went to Disney World.
I could keep going, but I will need 34 next year, so gotta save some of them!
Thank you so much for this past year. Pursuing the dreams and goals for this little space brought me more joy than I could have ever imagined. He is faithful. I can not wait to see what 33 brings! And had to share a few images from my favorite photo shoot this year!
