Can I just say how excited I am that it’s somewhat starting to feel like the fall season?
The weather isn’t quite where I personally would like it to be already but… football is on my tv, school has started, pumpkins are popping up everywhere, and I cooked my first pot of chili! This is my favorite time of year!
Is there a place in the world where it’s fall weather year round? Like maybe 65-70 degrees during the day and then a good 50-60 degrees at night? That would just make my heart happy. If you live in a place like this, I NEED to hear about it. Like now.
Being in West Texas we never know what we are going to get. I mean we have HABOOBS for goodness sakes. I didn’t even know such a thing existed until a few years ago. Our weather seems to wake up daily and just roll with whatever it feels like that day.
It can make getting ready for the day a little difficult. I mean my heart says it’s sweater weather but the weather itself is not cooperating with my heart.
I wore a flannel button up the other day. Felt perfect for the cool morning weather as I took the babies to school. By NOON I was sweating profusely. I had to come home and change. It was not pretty.
Lesson learned.
You know when you are trying to grow your hair out and you reach that awkward stage? That’s where our weather is right now.
So here’s what I am doing until the cool days truly arrive and stay for the season.
It’s still warm enough for shorts so, here are some of my favorite “Mom Shorts” …and the good news? Majority of shorts are ON SALE right now because their going out of season! So, stock up for next year! Click on the images below to SHOP NOW!
In order to keep myself from melting away by noon I have been starting the days with a button up over a basic tee, my “mom shorts”, a comfy sandal, and some dainty necklaces. By noon I usually have taken the button up off and tied it around my waist. So, if the weather is similar in your area this is a great way to adjust to the changing temperatures of the day. I also live out of my backpack right now. With four kids I have had to set aside all my cute handbags for now. The backpack just works. It meets all my needs…. plus the four kiddos needs. I’ll have to do a blog just on “what’s in my bag” because if you open that thing up it seriously looks like a Mothers “First Aid” bag. From diapers and wipes to toys and my Bible… it literally carries a lot of my life. I’m ok with retiring the cute handbags for a season to keep up with the littles of my life. We will meet again Louis…. I promise! So here’s a few favorite button ups for all your transitional outfits, some basic tees, these sandals that were LESS than $25 and look just like Birkens, and a few of my favorite dainty necklaces!
What are your favorite ways to transition between these indecisive weather changes?
