I recently attended the LTK Conference, and it was the best few days! It was a huge goal of mine since 2017 to get to attend, and it was so amazing to see several of my friends, connect with new ones and meet with some of my favorite brands!
I had an online boutique for a hot minute, but during that time I paid an influencer to share a sweater from my boutique, and it sold out immediately! It was in that moment I realized I could find a way to share my love for fashion and all the things, but cut out some of the overhead that was keeping me away from my family. I slowly began to transition to the “influencer” side of things in 2017. So many people thought it was crazy, distracted and just dumb…I am sure many still do. But I had found joy again! I barely made a dime for so long! Did so much work for free, because I thoroughly enjoyed what I was doing!
I stayed up countless hours researching this whole “influencer” gig. I watched and studied accounts/women doing what I wanted to do and doing it well. I was actually rejected THREE times, before finally getting approved on the LTK app! Instead of allowing that to shut me down, I used it to fire me up. A righteous anger if you will. And I worked even harder to get approved!
I have definitely made mistakes along the way, but that’s part of the journey. I finally reached my goal in 2020 when I was invited, but unfortunately it was cancelled that year. So this was my first time to get to attend in person! It was wonderful, but would have never been possible without the love and support of Ricky and my family and so many of you guys! So THANK YOU!
I truly love doing this, 5+ years later, it still fills my tank and brings me joy! It has opened up so many experiences and relationships no other door could have opened! And I am still just getting started. I say all of that to remind you, if there is a will…there’s a way. Put in the work! Stay focused. Turn off the noise. And surround yourself with people that will breathe life in where you’re going!
