Hey y’all! Only seems fitting as Lubbock is in Texas and the heart of the South Plains! I get asked for Lubbock recommendations often, so I thought it would be fun to start a series on Lubbock. I plan to cover restaurants, coffee shops, shopping spots and more! I will link up each one or include Instagram handle, so you can find all their information.
I was raised here, and now Ricky and I are raising our four kids here! The people are wonderful, and there are lots of gems all around town. We are always looking for activities to do as a family on the weekends, or even great entertainment spots for date night. I have rounded up several of our favorites! I am sure I have missed a few, so add those in the comments below! This is NOT a sponsored post.
KID FRIENDLY
Lubbock Water Rampage– It is open May 22nd-August 15th and has all the fun water activities your kids could want!
Adventure Park– It has great outdoor (zip-lining, bumper boats, speedway, golf) and indoor (gameroom, rockwall, lazer maze) options, open year-round!
Main Event– I think this place is fun for adults and kids! It’s all indoor, and it has bowling, laser tag, mini golf, rock climbing, pool tables, and more!
Science Spectrum– It has a public aquarium, live science exhibits, and a giant domed screen OMNI theater! It’s open seven days a week and offers affordable memberships.
Movie Theatre Private Rental– The theatre now offers to rent out an entire theatre (up to 20 people) for around $100. We have done this a few times with a group of friends, and we all loved it! It’s a good option for birthday parties too.
Stars and Stripes Drive-In Theatre– I love that we still have a drive-in theatre! It is open year-round, and you can one rent one of the screens for private events. It’s so much fun!
Joyland Amusement Park– It is open March-September on weekends (some Thursday evenings). We go every year for a fun school event with the kids! It has rides for all ages.
Blazing Bouncers– Your kids will play/jump for hours here! It is open seven days a week, all year-round. We attend so many birthday parties here!
Altitude Trampoline Park– This place is HUGE! It is all indoors and is fun for kids of all ages as well. Besides tons of trampolines to jump around on, they have a dodgeball area for bigger kids and a soccer area. Another popular place for birthday parties!
Play Street Museum– It is museum and educational indoor play space geared towards kids 8 and under!
ADULT/DATE NIGHT OPTIONS
4ORE Golf– You can definitely take your kids here, but we like to go for date night or with a group of friends! It is a golf entertainment facility with golf-simulated games for all ages. Plus they have yummy food there too!
Cooks Garage– We recently went to a concert out there with our friends! We had the best time! They have a restaurant out there as well.
Tech Game– College games are a lot of fun to go to, plus football season starts soon! We like taking the kids to a basketball game every year. Volleyball is going on right now! Tech soccer and baseball are a must too.
Bad Axe Raider– If you have wanted to go axe throwing, check out this place! It is fun for trying something new.
The Range– Another date night spot we like! It has a lighted driving range, wood fired pizza, outdoor games and more!
