Feeling like myself with my long hair again! It was great for summer, but this long hair is definitely more me. Lauren (@laurendomyhair) at Element Beauty & Co (@elementbeautylbk) did her magic, and I am in here for it! The new salon is beautiful, and if you are looking for a blow out, lashes, or other beauty services, check out their Instagram page to book. I have had extensions for 12 years, and this technique is my favorite. I love that I can pull my hair up and nothing shows! I went from 18 inch extensions back to 24 inch extensions (16 wefts-2 rows of 6 and 1 row of 4). I started with two rows initially and added a third row so it would blend with my thick hair the best.

“Please keep in mind that everyone’s hair history is different which can cause colors to look different on different clients. Extensions color and tone different. The starting point of each was different which is why clients hair and extension hair are toned with different formulas.
When having a stylist color extensions please know and understand that it’s a very different process than coloring your hair. Extensions are treated in a factory and take cool tones on a lot more dramatic and typically more warmth must be added to the formula in order to color them. Make sure if getting extensions custom colored that you choose a stylist who is experienced or has proper training in extension coloring. Extensions are usually a nonrefundable item and the color is never guaranteed which is why it’s important to choose a stylist that has invested in proper training for installs and coloring them to protect your investment.
We used the Hidden Element Method which hides the bead so when you wear your hair half up, half down, or up in a pony tail the bead is sandwiched between the wefts and provides a more seamless blend between your natural hair and extensions.” -Lauren
FAQ
How do you keep your hair smooth and not tangled with the extensions? I think this is definitely about the brand of extensions you use. Lauren has tried out some on me before that were more tangly. I also use The Wizard Detangling Hair Primer, It’s A 10 detangler or Unite detangler to help.
How do you sleep with them? Does it hurt when you sleep? I sleep with it in a low ponytail or low loose braid. You do not want much tension on it. The low loose braid to the side can help it from getting tangled as well. I am used to them, and it doesn’t hurt when I sleep on them.
Do you a hair mask? Lauren will do a deep conditioner once or twice a month. I do not have a brand I really recommend right now.
What about fine hair? Does it damage you hair? I would definitely set up a consultation. You may need a different method for your particular hair. With a consultation, hopefully they would be able to find the best fit for you.
What do you typically pay for hair, installation and color? I would say it ranges anywhere around $1500 for new hair and install, maintenance – $250+. Again this all depends on where you live, your stylist, and how much hair you have! Don’t hold me to these prices.
How often do you have to get your extensions moved up? I go every 8-10 weeks for a move up. I’ve pushed it to 12 weeks before, but 8-10 is healthy for me.
How do you keep your curls intact? Good products, quality hair, and a good curling iron! Also, sleep in a low loose ponytail (all linked below).
How often do you have to replace the actual extension hair? The hair can last 6-12 months depending on quality and how well you take care of it. I usually replace every 6-8 months.
LIQUID COLLAGEN
This is a before and after of my real hair! I have been working on growing my hair out for two years, and I am thrilled with the progress. It’s never been this long in my 35 years! This is in large part thanks to the liquid collagen I take daily! I have seen so much improvement with my hair, skin and nails. I had tried for years before this to get my hair to grow, but it would never get very long.
I often get questions about my hair routine, skin routine and fitness/health routine. These are the products I have used and will continue to use daily because of my own personal results. If your primary focus is hair, skin, nails and joint benefits, you would want to do two tablespoons per day of THIS collection. If you are also wanting help with weight management along with everything I mentioned above, THIS collection would be a good option. You would want to take one tablespoon of each per day. To help with hydration, shine and styling damage.

MY ROUTINE/PRODUCTS I USE
I wash my hair about once a week, let air dry as long as possible then blow dry in sections. I use dry shampoo nightly on my roots (I do not rub it in). I sleep in a low pony, or braid, every night as well. Besides what I listed above. I have linked up my everything else I use. The shampoo feels so good, my scalp feels like it can breathe! Since I only wash my hair once a week, I use the masque as a conditioner. Then I use the QUAI leave in conditioner and Amika’s The Wizard detangler (smells so good). Kenra blow-dry spray I have used forever, one of my favorite hair products. I use the Living Proof instant de-frizzer, my hair is naturally curly and needs it! The texture spray I use most is the Oribe, but I do use the Navy one as well. I rotate between the Navy and Living Proof dry shampoo. The Dry Bar products smell amazing, and I use their heat protectant sometimes before I curl my hair. My hair is super thick, so the GIMME bands work best for me!
